Should Arabic be the official script of Somalis? (Wadaad script)

The earliest writing I can find is 1884.

I have yet to see earlier writing of Somali in Arabic.
Somalis had Sultanates/Nomadic little city states before that, Wadaad is said to have been invented by Yusuf Kawneyn (can’t spell his name) Hundreds of years before 1884.

Wadaad is also older than any of these scripts invented in the colonial era.

Until I see evidence I will assume that is untrue.

The Arabic script was introduced to Somalia in the 13th century by Sheikh Yusuf bin Ahmed Al Kawneyn. (colloquially referred to as Aw Barkhadle or the "Blessed Father"),a man described as "the most outstanding saint in northern Somalia."

Anyways, the question was about what you think if we were to ever change our script and what we should change it to? Your thoughts and be objective
