No that’s a categorical lie and shows how little you know about Muslim history let alone Somali history. There is not truth to this, Somali women and Muslim women in general were freer than their Western counterparts due to the rights granted by Islam, just because a country like Afghanistan may have a bad reputation for its treatment of women doesn’t mean you get to apply that blanket term on the entire Muslim world

No I’ve lived in somalia, this issue is rarely if seldom ever discussed in public. And for the record no one knows who started FGM, there’s evidence of origin in Egypt thousands of years ago, but there’s a reason women have always done the procedure and not men, and it must be because women were the inventors

I've done enough research of Muslims in history to know what they have done. yes western women probably had it worse off in general than muslim women for most of history, but lets not ignore all the terrrible stuff our own ummah has done

Yes all wars have rape. In islam if its Muslim vs non Muslim then those non Muslim women can be slaves and concubines even if they were married it doesn't matter so rape is basically allowed then. IDK what other religions rules are in war but either way the world practices rape during war
