Sayid Mohamed park being built in jigjiga

th

he would have never allowed it AUN
he was a sufi. Im not sure he would have interpreted it as an idol. Look at the one of him in Xamar now or the one that used to be there before interahamwe sold it for scraps to Arabs. In the past Somalis didn’t interpret it as an idol. This is a relatively new understanding among most Somalis, not to say that it is wrong.

Shouldn’t be a statue in general but if there were it should be in a monument park.

That being said the idea of widening that roundabout further or widening more streets is a terrible idea.

It should be in the centre as an important reminder. Kind of shocked Ethiopians even allow that statue considering the history.
Their biggest dream for Somalis is they develop asabiyah with aethiopids. Somalis and Canfar are so distant and uniform that they don’t even bother trying to overwrite their culture like other regions.
That was an Amhara? I thought that was an Oromo that did that.
They are all the same to me sxb, may have been
He wasn’t Oromo nor was he drunk. He was a Habesha shortbus kid.

There are hordes of zombies in Ethiopia that fried their brains huffing glue and other substances. Same with alot of Africa we actually got off easy with Khat.

What's wrong with widening streets/roads? Wider streets/roads are better than narrow streets/roads. The only time when narrow streets/roads are acceptable is when its impossible to widen them.

That mistake is why America is a wealthy eyesore. Houston is 10x the population of Venice and 20x richer but which one would your rather visit. They have now realized that but reversing it will take multiple lifetimes.

Keep the streets narrow and buy buses until you can afford trains. Underdeveloped Africa should be learning from these expensive mistakes.

An idol is an idol. It don't matter what you call it that's how Satan introduced paganism to humans he just said its to remember great people from our history.
It ain't the same homie those nighas back then where worshipping the idols giving them gold and praying to them nobodies doing that for this statue it's just a reminder of our history

Its simple the wider the street the more space for cars which means less crashes and better traffic flow. The streets in my city are super wide it's very easy to drive in if you crash you're not looking at the road at all. Compared to asian cities where it's super narrow and tight with traffic up the ass you have to be on point the whole ride or ur gonna swipe something.

Narrow roads are meant for cities that have a high density like Tokyo all the stores and everything are mushed together and it's highly concentrated within the parameters of the city so everything is walkable cause cars aren't practical in this environment. They dont really want you driving to begin with hence the narrow roads. Big roads make sense for cities like Dallas where everything is spread out so driving or at least bussing is more convenient and people on average drive much more so big roads make for a smoother flow of traffic and less accidents.

Somali cities should be somewhere in the middle imo. Make space for the cars cause a good amount of people do drive and we dont have mega cities like New Delhi or Mumbai but also have sidewalks everywhere and the poorer neighborhoods should have easy walking distance access to all the amenities they may need.

This seems logical but it isn’t true. Numerous studies have shown that increasing lanes doesn’t have a meaningful impact on reducing traffic in the long-term; more people just end up driving.
