Somalis use to send upto $140M a year through remittances and can now use their services in the States.

Although i am personally against the Xawaalad system in favour of a centralised bank, i appreciate the help they provided to those in need in the difficult years that have passed us.

You really think that would be disclosed or known to the public knowing how big his investment portfolio is?

I wouldn't be suprised if he was the wealthiest man in the country by a mile. Even when they froze some of his accounts, he went and founded Hormuud, Zaad etc to name a few. Waa the Roman Abromavich of Somalia.

He is a good man and employees business oriented people of all stripes however I think Dahabshiil’s snitching worked out the best in the long run cause there’s competition now.

Tbh i highly doubt Dahabshiil had anything to do with it. There were fears the US would have frozen their assets too.

But the only good thing that came out from the Sanction was competitive prices and quicker service which is better for the average customer.

This is why a central financial authority is needed, to regulate the industry, prevent the use of foreign currencies (Somalis now use $ instead of their own shillings) and have these businesses declare their revenue in order to efficiently tax them, we are not Switzerland lol. It is shameful that Bayleh openly admits to foreign powers that these companies pay more tax to terror groups than their own government.
