HISTORY Sabaeans on the Somali coast

Long story.

Write "Rubial" and search it with my name, and you will see how I dived into their racist texts in academic papers. If you can't, just say it so I can link you. I don't want to write it again.

I did some reading on what you mentioned. It was a great read. It is quite terrifying how our history has been marketed as Ethiopian or even Arabian/muslim in some cases without much backlash. Rubial seems particularly dangerous since he has current access to regions in Somalia. We might very well see historians destroying historic relics in the near future with how lax our vetting seems to be.

You mean to tell me we’re related to ancient Nubians ???
He has said that before yes but it still confuses me
I think we're more Wawat (Lower Nubia) C-Group types than Medjay but we're probably somewhat mixed with Medjay. Medjay were genetically indistinguishable from the average Somali, anyway. We come from that broader region and they were a close population that interacted with our ancestors and definitely were under the same power umbrella at different periods. It's complicated.

Yes but don't go claiming Nubia on TikTok please guys it's still very much bleeding edge archaeogenetics
Indeed, but either way. It's very clear that cushites as a whole have their origins in nubia, especially the haplogroup of most somali males clearly having a common ancestor in bronze age nubia.

I'm curious, considering the land of punt was established 4000 years ago and a bit. Did said nubians mix with those inhabiting the land of punt? Possibly getting said habesha-like mediated arabian, as you said.
When I say Nubians, I mean the people inhabiting broader Nubia and part of central Sudan and the Eastern Desert and southern Egyptian Western Desert. The people from the land of Punt in the early days were mixed between early Pastoralist Neolithic that settled in the Butana region very early, and proto-Pan Grave individuals.

The people in the land of Punt had the same pedigree as the people of Nubia because they were of the same broader "stock." Just another Nubian variation that would be the ancestors of the Agaws.
