I did some reading on what you mentioned. It was a great read. It is quite terrifying how our history has been marketed as Ethiopian or even Arabian/muslim in some cases without much backlash. I think we're more Wawat (Lower Nubia) C-Group types than Medjay but we're probably somewhat mixed with Medjay. Medjay were genetically indistinguishable from the average Somali, anyway. We come from that broader region and they were a close population that interacted with our ancestors and definitely were under the same power umbrella at different periods. It's complicated.
