I don't know how true all of these Western hit-pieces are; Russia is only using around 20% of its military strength and can deploy more of its troops if it deems it necessary.
They do know about this. Why would they send ethnic russian to perish in a war against people (ukrainians) that are very similar to them (according to some) when they can send minorities such as the stupid kadyrovites?

Apparently the Ukrainian military command was against this from the beginning but the Zelensky regime decided otherwise. I wouldn't expect any less from them.
