Report on SNA and Shabaab capabilities

TL;DR….Overall, however, al-Shabaab would be slightly militarily stronger because of its significant advantages across the non-material dimensions related to force employment, cohesion, and psychological operations, as well as the sustainability of its forces.:bell:

These gaalo thinktankers get on my nerve, just repeat whatever they have heard on the internet, never add anything new. We need proper objective analysts and that can only be offered from those who are familiar whats happening on the ground. Basically only somalis.

AS strenght and weakness are known, same for SNA. AS exploits religion and qabyaalad for their gain. Best way to combat them is hit them hard financially. That will result in taxing the areas they control.

In order to achieve this, FGS needs to clear AS from shabellada hoose and the highway to Baydowa. Cut off lacag from the farms and stop extortion of Baydowa. They will crumble like cookies.

I think we can all agree that if all foreign forces leave it will be an Afghan style take over. Some think shabab isn’t as strong as the Taliban but they don’t need to be even close. Taliban was fighting USA and western forces while Shabab is fighting African troops.

At it peak ATMIS had 22,000 troops. As of April 2024, ATMIS comprises approximately 14,000 troops and 850 police. Another 4,000 A.U. troops should exit by June 30 with the remainder of the force scheduled to leave Somalia by the end of 2024. In addition, the departure of the A.U. force could also mean the end of the United Nations Support Office for Somalia (UNSOS), which currently delivers logistical support to nearly 19,000 SNA soldiers.

2 years ago the SNA was strong.
Now it has been decimated by the damul jadiid.
Sna was so strong a town 30 km away from the capital was unreachable except by plane.
Your braincells have been dying these two years and I know that with every tuulo that has been liberated you have been getting heart an heart attack.
