True. Most couples split the cost, I don’t think it’s fair to burden the guy to pay for everything.

A small bridal shower and small aroos is good enough. Tbh, my priority would be to find a nice place to live and decor my place to my liking. Then save money and go on a honeymoon, or at least travel somewhere close by for the time being (Caribbean for example) and then go someplace more expensive and nice after.

So many people spend money on a wedding and then can barely afford a place to live, or furniture. That’s dumb.

I agree. Like @416 said financial literacy is lacking in our community. A lot of the younger women are trying to hold on to old traditions in new times and countries. Maybe abo could have done that shit for hooyo in Somalia in 1983 but it's not happening over here.
