Djibouti opposes Somaliland recognition as Somaliland is it's biggest competitor.Remember that DP-World was kicked out of Djibouti, yet it runs a port in direct competition with Djibouti.

Somaliland also has a larger population and a large border between Ethiopia which means more potential highways to deliver goods. The biggest problem for Hargeisa is that it is extremely poor and thus can't even fund large highways to speed up exports.
