Adeer i can get you free cab rides, stay a passenger queen
To get a drivers license you just need to pass a theory and a practical. The former needs some basic reading that many places specifically provide. Takes a few days to read up, the questions are simulated and repetitive, very easy in my opinion. The latter you'll need a driving school or teacher. Practical exams involve a short timed assessment of your driving. Get the Auto license, you could learn to drive in 2 months, a manual car is no place for a girl.
Once you have your license, if you buy a car, you'll be paying for car insurance (shop around but aim for under 90 pounds a month), road tax (15 quid a month), breakdown cover (recommend AA, 20 quid a month), petrol (100 a month) and maintenance i.e cleaning the vehicle (20 pound inside and outside) and an MOT service (60 pound but once a year).
Get the license as it makes you eligible for more job opportunities and you can drive rentals if you don't want to own a car for expense reasons or time. Don't invest in cars ever btw. They are depreciating in value unlike houses. For the right car to purchase, seek one with not many previous owners, full MOT history, with medium or low mileage (under 70k miles).
