Politics is weird like that. If you can't get the seat you choose someone who is favorable to your clan in terms of ministerial positions, projects for your region. So the kings might play the game of if we can't get the seat due to bari divisions caused by aaran jaan in garowe, we will vote for gaas it's far better outcome for us then have aaran jaan in power again. Sometimes it comes down to if you cant get the seat at least vote a person who is good to your clan and gaas is good to our clan.

Bro Faroole was way better than Gaas in lots of aspects. Pound for pound he was better than Gaas. He just ruined his chances in the last 1.5 of his term. In the first 3.5 years, he was the best in my opinion. That guy put Puntland on the map

Yeah Farole was damn good but he started going tribal and garowe kama bixin jirin and his family had way to much power and puntlanders hated that. Farole was the best president we had after abdillahi yusuf no doubt and I still like him but his aaran jaan and family are the problem plus his hargeisa love-affair is worrying but his anti mogadishu position is admirable at the same time.

I am leaning towards Farah Ali Shire (former finance minister of Faroole administration and Ali Saleebaan). There are some shady candidates backed by HAG and Farmajo to destroy Puntland. He seems like a safe and competent choice.

Khalif Issa Mudan seems decent in my opinion. Ex military and LOCAL. Plus well known in Somalia. His international contacts are low tho in comparison to Sharmarke. There does seem to be this DAL JOG president vibe happening lately which will be in Khalif favor.

Things don't look good cause of this farah ali shire. He will get the issa maxamud vote, ali saleban vote, and possibly a few other langaabs in bari who are anti osman maxamud. Gaas has ssc/mudug/makhir on lock also especially with his focus on tukaraq lately and makhir projects, a promise to complete it will seal it for him. Galdogob to Garacad thing will seal his fate in mudug also. What's left? issa mahmud and bari basically.

Bari is likely gonna split on osman maxamud and ali saleban because of ali shire so osman maxamud cant even hold the 17 mps of bari. lets say they get 12 of the bari osman maxamud and their allies and the rest to farah ali shire and his clan and allies

17 in ssc, 9 in sanag, 10 in mudug, he already has half gaas. Gas walks away with 37 votes first round. While farah and osman maxamud candidate come in second and third respectively with 12 bari votes for osman and and 7 plus 4 from issa mahmud for Farah a total of 11.

It will be over in the first round truly if the opposition doesn't end the split.
