Damn when i think of awdal i think more hilly like borama, wowYou were correct the first time, this man is from Awdal.
Oh have a laugh mate. Am I supposed to take this topic seriously
It's either an Oromo or a lander pushing this garbage "are are different" narrative. We ain't different from one another. One of the comments said the south is mixed with Bantu or Nilotic which is laughable.
I'm not even the one bringing up genetics in the first place and I'm literally saying that north and south Somalis are the same.Look at the pathetic xabashi comment right above yours. Idk why they’re so obsessed with race science. Also, that sub was started by a xabashi so the slop they post there isn’t really surprising.

I personally don't see Northern Somalis and Southern Somalis look any different from one another and both look the same yet you have people peddling backwards and primitive talking points about Northern phenotypes looking more Arab/Habesha adjacent while Southern looks more Nilotic/Bantu and that has never been more of a lie to me personally since I've never encountered nor seen that?
What is this despicable lie about Southern Somalia being invested with Bantus and its just one big Bantu Mut-land when that couldn't be further from the truth.
What is Somalispot's thoughts on this because it seems I'm losing my mind here, don't know what to believe anymore.
There are a lot of valleys and flat areas, as you get closer to the coast, it basically becomes flat.Damn when i think of awdal i think more hilly like borama, wow
No it wouldnt. We dont need to feed into narrative that seek to create more division amongst us.It'd be interesting to map out regional differences among the Somali people. Because the landmass that they cover is long and wide so there has got to be some divergence. But not in a "bantu" or "arab" admixture bs
Are you really a northeasterner if you have southern ancestry?I still remember when I first encountered some Hawiye, Rx and southern Darood samples (I am part southern myself). Kept being taken aback by how identical they looked to Northeasterners like me and my dad as well as the 'Lander samples I had. Not to mention all the IBD sharing. People from Burco or Bosaso will turn up with distant Somali relatives / segment shares from like Harar to Djibouti to deep into Koonfur. Very close knit ethnic group. Anyone who breaks the norm pretty much has recent confirmed outside admixture (known in the family and visible like a sore-thumb in their auDNA) and is a plain outlier.
They're lying you can't tell us apart as a northern somali I've also seen this notion going around that the south has more african ancestry (specifically bantu) than the North but based on everyday encounters like we all look the same. Also arab or habesha hell nah![]()

Is there really any difference between Dishiishe and MJ?Couldn't care less about such things but if you're curious, dad is Dishiishe (paternal line) with Warsangali, Habar Yoonis and MJ in him. Sanaag-Bari folks. Mom's paternal lines are reer Mudug (Reer Khalaf) MJs but on both sides her fam were basically those MJs who went down to Koonfur during the 19th to early 20th centuries or so. Her father's side married Reer Gedo Mareexaans (forgot the sub but I remember my ayeeyo saying they were big wigs like some reer Ugaas of some kind) and her mother's side married Maalin Weyn Raxanweyns from Baydhabo. All genetically identical to northerners given mine and parents' genomic structure.
So I myself am 6/8ths drawn from northeastern subtribes. Dishiishe, Majeerteen, Warsangeli and Habar Yoonis. In that order of frequency and importance.
