Rant: I have a deep dislike for unskilled Somalis, who complain about lack of development in Somalia.

Some Somalis use social media to bash poverty in Somalia and its perceived lack of potential. On the other hand, the Leaders who are supposed to guide Somalia out of the dark ages, hold degrees like "MS in international relations, MA in psychology/sociology, PhD in Gender studies, PhD in governance, MBA," in my opinion, these are the two sides of the same coin, both are hypocrites. Somalis with real skills are not going to "pay/bride" some warlord for protection, when those skills are more valuable in other countries. The Somalis who lack skills are the least able to help in Somalia's future, but also those same Somalis make choices that affect Somalia's future for decades.

if we need railroads, who can build rail roads? (not MS in Liberal arts)

we need oil and gas infrastructure, who can build that infrastructure? (not an MBA)

we need an agricultural revolution, who is willing to sweat for the land? (never met a farmer who needed a PHD in governance)

we need industrial output, who can build those foundries? (def not some unskilled guy in a thobe)

Everyone who recognizes the issues facing our country, but not taking personal steps to actually educate themselves in real skills is just as guilty as the public officials who are in charge in Somalia but have no understanding of fixing the issues in Somalia right now. Somalia needs 1,000,000 engineers | 5,000,000 farmers | 10,000,000 skilled workers. we don't need soldiers or social workers, we are not at war with an some external enemy, we are at war with slothfulness, and we need to take care of ourselves, and stop asking the international organizations for hand outs.

If people wish to denigrate people for going to school longer then it shows they lack an understanding that many roles and expertise are required to solve complex problems. No one said you could not be a farmer/agronomist with several years of formal schooling. It is not mutually exclusive. No one says you cannot teach yourself skills either. i actually listed a few degrees i find unskilled and useless, but tbh phd in finance and economics is absolutely useless as well, in 2023 i can create a machine learning model to capture and understand financial and economic data better than some PHD who just wants a big paycheck. if anything, I would take a truck driver or a general laborer instead of someone with a PHD in finance or economics, because computers exists...but if you really think PHDs in those fields are useful, give me a list of tasks they can accomplish, and i will let you know if computers can do the same thing...

but respect to your double phd with two engineering degrees cousin, that's the level of competency we need. my argument is allot of these degrees are useless, and don't contribute to society, but People really think clout from their useless degrees and complaining about poverty to international organizations, will create value in a place like Somalia, where one time of year they cry about droughts and the other part of year they complain about floods.

It probably takes a few weak to teach a factory worker the basics. When you see these pakistani factory workers doing their job its not like they take years to learn their job it just takes a few days to learn.

When you watch videos of the kacaan era and how they got young educated men and women to go out to each village and teach the locals to write and read. That is what we must emulate.

Teach 200 people basic tasks they each teach 20 or so people and soon you will have thousands of people with skills that are valuble.

This would be one of the best things for the goverment to invest in as it would be almost a garuntee money back via taxes.

Somalia has low regulation and low cost of labour we could be a manufactoring hub like ethiopia if we plan correctly.
