Somalia has is one of the most expensive road per/km road costs in the world.
All the money can go to Xamaar and it still won’t change anything as the states gain autonomy in the confederation.
People aren’t rich from economic productivity, they are getting rich from Capitalist Anarchy.
Outside of telecoms, the only money people are making is from looting the unaudited donar funds and miss management of public funds.
-Our Agro sucks.
-We still spend 35% of our GDP buying diesel to fuel power homes and businesses.
-We have limited manufacturing capabilities
-Zero raw materials are manufactured or exported
-Human Capital is in the sewers
-There’s about 2km total of underground sewage pipelines
-waste management and asset management is alien
The only industries keeping Somalia afloat and directly helping the people are the unregulated banks, Telcos and Ports.

Why are they making the wrong choices with regards to on what they spend the money? Building government buildings is not worth 200 million. Even the Afgoye-Mogadishu road is economically meaningless. We would spend it on the right things, alla yaa lacagtaa Puntland geeya

If you gave me 200million to help me build something, and yet all the money goes to your construction companies and your outsourced labour force, then how do I benefit?

This is all about subsidies to appease Qatari companies.
We import the diesel needed to make asphalt this is why it costs 100X per KM to build a road in Somalia compared to other countries.
The same diesel is brought in by the countries that give you funding. You in return use thier ports to and ships to bring in heavy equipment, you use thier outsourced labour and thier outsourced engineers.
The road is needed, but at what cost?
