Deni has remarked that PL will sit down and negiotate with the SFG. But I fear PL relies on the old generation who are still trying to pass through it's policies using either >>>> 'emotion or feelings' or nepotism >>>> 'family iyo xidid' ties to get through their policies. This worked in the old days, but it's a new world today. People want ideas grounded in rationality not emotions or nepotism plus they want a win-win outcome not a win-lose scenario.
PL must tell the South the following truth;
1. PL will not accept any federal model that is outside or incosistent with the PL model. This ends their politicians playing word salad using federalism loopholes
2. PL must demand the South organize itself at a social-political-traditional level or else we fear that any agreement reached is not the wishes of it's people but individuals
3. The presidential model must be rejected on the grounds it goes against centralizing power to a President. We must tell them if their is problems in the system, we can fix it, but we are not replacing it. They confuse a human problem with a system problem. Their is bad doctors, doesn't mean medicine is being replaced. Their is bad muslims, doesn't mean anyone is proposing to replace it. We must tell them just becuz their has been pm/president clashes doesn't mean the parliamentary system is the problem. Let's fix the grey areas in the constitution to resolve this following in the spirit of not centralizing power to the president
4. We must discuss how to make the President ceremonial and head of state only not involved in day to day govt affairs and fix the constitution to reflect that
5. PL wants to keep it's development aid separate to the SFG
6. Untill Rule of Law, Strong Systems, good governance is achieved in the SFG with international confidence(they must come out of halane), PL will remain separate.
PL must keep this option on the table if the SFG disagree with PL model Federalism, that PL may consider a 99 year treaty system(two systems 1 nation model) like china and hong kong where we are separate and will conduct every 25 years a once in a generation reviews with the South untill such time the 99 year treaty is complete. It will be discussed if the conditions are ripe for union, extending the treaty, or if PL should be sovereign country once the treaty expires.
Why this system is win-win for SFG and PL. It allows both a cooling off period while allowing each to fix their part of the nation. It's also a medium ground solution between secession-union, appeasing all sides. It allows PL to return stronger and better to do it's bit and be a positive force for it's neighbors and Somalia, or in the event PL has a crisis or our vision didn't work out, we have a back-up solution where we can re-unite with the South. PL doesn't need extreme solutions rushed unions or rushed secession, but a 'diversified' model where we can enjoy as many benefits with minimal risks.
Puntland has to drop the old generation style politics and present it's ideas so it can be tested at theoritical level and then further test it with practical real world models.
