I think it's a good job he has, his own boss, gets to see different areas, travelling(keeping up nomadic values not sedentary stuck in a office prison), plus can just be on internet. Self driving car tech is already available but isn't economically feasible as it would destroy the insurance industry and have a huge effect on the economy with all them investors and workers gone. It also has legal problems like whose at fault in the event of an accident or software glitch, is it the manufacturer of the vehicle or the software company and can they handle such volume of bills before going bankrupt?

The way most software are designed by cheap immigrants I wouldn't risk my life in those things other then for gimmick but not as a real full time transport. Not to mention the potential for hackers. Hell no I'm going into automated vehicles.
