@Pwyneth Galtrow indeed you make sense since whether some people like it or not we are a tribal people, we're not like the West we have our own history and demography.

PS If President Deni does become our federal president then I hope he simultaneously remains leader of Puntland

I wish he would be able to stay on in Puntland. He is such a wonderful leader for our state.
I think we will have Vice President Karaash who will lead until the elections and insha'Allah he will continue doing a good job. It should not be difficult because there is already a decent government system in place.

It's A Wedding Or Festive Occasion No Man In These Days Would Wear The Garment Of Nomads I've Been Seeing Habesha Wedding Pics They Wear Their Former Kings Garments Not That Of Peasant's Other Culture Do Likewise
:manny::manny:

That's a good point you made. But remember, by nature, Somali male nomads are not that flamboyant, the style is simplistic and matches the simplistic lifestyle.

Allow sahal amuuraha

@Pwyneth Galtrow @Neero there's a real risk that if Karash takes over PL he conspires with the next national prime minister against Deni to reduce/end Puntland autonomy in return for minorities like Dhulbahante becoming the new perpetual rulers of PL. Majority rules not the minority

Puntland will move to one man one vote, every Puntite clan will have their votes and nobody can stop that from happening. Also, our political parties are not identifiable by subclan, so people will be forced to assess each party for what it stands for.

Finally, Karaash has not been exposed as an MJ hater. He is really calm when we look at how insane Somali politicians can be.

I even want to see Puntite Officials only wearing traditional Somali clothing that are slightly modernised for modesty etc.
I’ve always wanted somali politicians to adopt this, showing up to international conferences in cultural wear is a sign of pride in where you come from

Arab politicians:

Maybe somali politicians can opt for more modest/modernised versions of these:

Absolutely agree, it looks so classy. Especially if the last outfit had the draping or the other style nomads wore with the top sheet.

Instead;

Our political leaders look like Western Copycats.
Our Islamic leaders look like Arab wannabes
Our clan leaders wear Indian fishermen sarongs and Omani hats.

This misconception never made sense to me, Dir Biimaal & Surre also welcome Bantus into their communities, and some of them you can find claiming Merca belongs to them, yet you'll never hear of Dir being associated with Bantus like that by other Somalis.

Geladi Sultunate is underrated, imagine my surprise when I found out Raxanweyne had a kingdom dominating the southern coast of Somalia with an army numbering 50,000 troops, I'm shocked people don't talk about it more often.
That's because Raxanweyn have a tradition of welcoming bantus and others into their confederation by kinda adopting them. Some abgaal subclans do this to a lesser extent. Other Somali clans may have cordial relations with Somali bantus but don't usually incorporate them into their clan.
Raxanweyn have a good mindset, they integrate people. Their whole clan is a bunch of somalis who came together and formed a qabil not exclusively based on genealogies

There was also a D&M gentleman on this forum who has a Bantu haplogroup. So, there is some truth to Bantus being absorbed, knowingly or unknowingly.

This outfit is 100% better than those suits they wear today.

What's worse is that many wear suits that are unflattering cuts, and they don't know how to button or unbutton their suits when they stand and sit. So, it all looks messy and unprofessional.

There is no way in Islam you can adopt the lineage of another man, Raxoweyne is a Somali clan sxb. They have sub-clans and reers just like us, sure they might have some pacts with reer Madowweyne, but that doesnt make them Raxoweyne.

To be honest macawiis is basically a colorized version of the old white cloth that somalis used. Having clothes that were influenced by other cultures doesn't mean copying. Kufi hats are also part of our culture, Barawe has a tradition of handmade hats, just because it came from arabs doesn't mean it's not somali. Muslim south asians also adopted khamis and kufi hats from arabs but those garments are know part of their tradition.
The only thing that I dislike is those who wear gulf arab clothes, somalis never wore that historically but macawiis, kufis etc have a long history in our culture

Masha'Allah.

So far all I know is; mininka mininkaaga waaye- which I believe translates to "my home is your home" and that is Puntland's clear message to South-West Somalis.

It's good to learn Af-Maay or to promote its use for social, security and economic relations.
:gucciwhat:cmon now. You've been advocating for these people to be removed.
