Why are somali horses smaller then most other arabian horse subraces? Does the smallness of the somali horse make it faster? Where can you buy a horse and then hold it?

My theory
Somali horses used to be tall but ever since the invention of the car, Somalis no longer need to ride horses and so male horses would mate with any female horse around since they were no longer administered.

Because somalis didn't breed them with other types of horses even though some somali horses have mixed with Arabian ones.
The Mongolian horses are known their shortness, they are the same size of somali ones but they were super fast and allowed mongols to conquer Asia.
I guess somali horses are also relatively fast and more resistant to heat and lack of water.
