I actually support Puntland currency. In 2019 when Sudan start it's civil war there was a currency producing factory was robbed and it has Somalia bank notes. Now if someone was producing fake monopoly money and was flooding the market and managed to do unnoticed they could literally purchase house and other commercial goods for free. In addition to this Puntland is not getting it's help and not much of the aid is coming to Puntland from the mog.

As president deni said, we've tried to use the somali shilling to no avail. It's managemnt is not well regulated and theres lots of counterfit issues as well as currency instability. The benefits of issuing our own currency far outweighs being in limbo.
Knowing how dump Somalis work it will take 10 years due to corruption and money laundering they will do. The projects may not even come to fruition

There will be strong demand for the new currency, especially when Puntland confirms that all pirate ransoms must be paid in Puntland Pesos. This demand will strengthen the exchange rate of the new currency.

USD is more stable, however it comes with literally no autonomy. What if there was an alternative that was decentralised (akin to our Xeer system of governance, just an economic version), with no inflation (the crux of the issue with non-USD currencies), where printing money and corruption can be held accountable (the main political issue), and can be independent of hegemonic powers (debt slavery to these IFI’s). That is of course Bitcoin.
I often find people in politics are constrained due to interests and their lack of willingness to change, however why do those who discuss politics fall into that same trap? Why limit ourselves to the overton window set by these politicians. Yes i salute Deni for daring to have the initiative but let us think outside the box.
