Following the triumph at Goojacade, Said Deni received numerous invitations to visit Lascaanod—each extended in a spirit of unity and mutual recognition. Yet, none were acknowledged. As August 25, 2024, approached, amid a solemn commemoration of the Goojacade victory, Khatumo State renewed its invitation. Despite the profound symbolic weight of the occasion, the gesture was once again met with silence.
In a continued effort to promote regional dialogue, strengthen cooperation, and advance the delinking process, the Khatumo State administration endeavored to dispatch a delegation comprising ministers and political representatives to initiate discussions with Puntland. However, these diplomatic overtures were met with silence.
It was only when Khatumo State began to assert its political trajectory — pursuing formal recognition from the Federal Government of Somalia — that Said Deni broke his silence.
In a notable shift, Said Deni appealed to Khatumo’s leadership, calling for negotiations to address the growing rift.
