what's going on exactly? is he losing subbort in somalia? or is he losing interest in letting egypt use his country as a proxy against ethiopia?

It was a short turnaround from Kenya to Somalia to America so might just be a flights thing needing to use Ethiopian airlines
He has little to none support from Somali population as well as not having any support from regional federal states. Ethiopia is the only door to get federal states under his control as many have signed a security agreement with Ethiopia. If HSM gets Ethiopia on good terms he can break this agreememt which will lead to the changing of federal states leaders. How he will reconcile with Ethiopia while in bed with Egypt is a question I dont have the answer for.
As for letting Egypt use Somalia as a proxy war location this was on the table recently. Its not clear when or how Egypt will come into somalia whether opening a base or bringing troops under ATMIS.
Interesting. Personally, I say that, if HMS is willing to let Ethiopia's enemies use his country against Ethiopia, then he has no right to complain if Ethiopia takes measures to defend itself. Not saying I like the situation, but it's understandable. It's like when siad barre didn't like when SNM got training and arms from Mengistu's Ethiopia, meanwhile siad barre was arming and training and helping anti Ethiopian rebels/groups/etc.

I understand. This is the "Canal" that Ex president Farmaajo closed when he reconciled with Ethiopia and reached a common understanding to not interfere with each other politics as well as living together in peace. Previously before Farmaajos term every Federal state who disagreed with FGS would make deals with Ethiopia and other foreign countries. Reconciliation with Ethiopia put a stop to this allowing Somalia to direct their poltics more. This I believe was one of the best political moves the Ex president made as it moved Somalia one step forward to self determination.
Ethiopia also has every right to do that which allows it to defend its country from attacks from neighbouring countries.
I personally believe in living in peace and good neighbor spirit between Somalia and Ethiopia like Ex president Farmaajos term. HSM has made a grave mistake siding with Egypt over Ethiopia which Somalia does not have a border with as well as not having any interest with

Mahad Salaad is the one behind Egypt policy and has deep connections with them which gave him access to major funds for HSM’s election campaign.
The policy isn’t going to change. Ethiopia will have to leave Somalia once Shabaab is defeated. And that’s when they’ll lose their leverage. They made a major mistake losing HAG.

I personally believe being friendly with Ethiopia is the best solution. Bear in mind we share a long border with them and they were the ones who armed rebel groups in early 90s who then overthrew Barre.
Logic tells you to have good relations with your neighbour then egypt which Somalia doesnt even share a border with. Not saying make enemies with neither of them rather stay neutral in any disputes and maintain good relations. Especially Ethiopia seeing the long border we share with them and how previous inteference added to overthrowing gov in 1991.
Let me ask whats benefit will come for Somalia in siding with your neighbour (ethiopia) enemy and creating bad relationship

Non interference is the best policy, most Muslim Ethiopians for example, opposed the 2006 Ethiopian invasion of Somalia, but of course, the government doesn't care about the wishes and aspirations of the average Ethiopian, especially the Muslims.

There’s no way in the long run Somalia can coexist with Ethiopia as it exists right now. The only reason it might seem like it can is because you’ve had Ethiopian puppets as Somali president so far. But things are changing as Egypt becomes more involved in Somalia
