And why not somali or a cushitic languageThe way a language sounds is meaningless. I'd be more concerned with the level of cultural advancement behind it, and for that it's Amharic by a large margin.
And why not somali or a cushitic language
Explain yourself![]()
Why not afar or a cushitic onenon-mother-tongue it says in the title. Amharic wins.
Why not afar or a cushitic one
I hope you would have said somali if it was not titled that![]()
I would support a government policy to kill off loanwordsBesides Oromo and Somali, all the other Cushitic languages are fairly primitive.
I would support a government policy to kill off all the non-Maxaa Tiri dialects in Somalia. Let's get rid off Maay and all that crap.

They are primitive in what way?![]()
Not reallyYou are asking too many rhetorical questions. You already know the answer.
Not really
Kill of loanwords in somali and the language will be purely cushitic like afar oromo etc.
If primitive to you is because they are rural and nomadic people then that is crazy,
Its not lacking, there are words for some things check @SultanuuFicaan science word threadsI'm all for mass absorbing MSA Arabic for all the words Somali is lacking. Make Somali a Cushitic-Arabic pidgin.

Apart from religious loanwords, i believe we definetely should have a somali word for some simple vocabularyI actually think the older and more primitive a language, the more interesting it is. It is an undiluted connection to the language of our ancestors.
But of course, languages like Somali and Amharic which have a lot of foreign influence are useful because they can easily be universal languages for business and education.
Which foreign influence has affected amharic? I l know for Somali its arabic?I actually think the older and more primitive a language, the more interesting it is. It is an undiluted connection to the language of our ancestors.

No hes a Somali you idiot
I used to believe that (back when I was naive and didn't read a lot).No. I am not a cultural relativist. Some cultures are richer and more developed than others.
No 5I love number 8 very much if you get me.![]()
