He wants a united Somalia??? Wouldn't that make him lose 40% of his landmass?Reconciliation.

Bro I'm not that clueless, I'm talking about if a potential reunion occurs, then the Galbeed question reopens - especially since Ethiopia has a "separation" section in it's constitution.Somalia is only the Somali Republic (union of British Somaliland and Italian Somalia). The rest were never part of Somalia but was a Somaliweyn goal by the former government.

It's not in their political interests to do so and if we leave that leaves the Oromos to politically dominate the rest of Ethiopia since they won't be distracted in border disputes with us. Imagine losing 40% of your land mass and critical rail corridor from Dir Dhaba to Djibouti given entirely to Somalia. That would be a nightmare for any government in Adis.Abiye Ahmed is a Oromo he ain't worried about that. It is usually Amhara/Tigrays that are worried about the Somali region of Ethiopia breaking off.
Article 39 The Right of Nations, Nationalities and Peoples
1. Every nation, nationality or people in Ethiopia shall have the unrestricted right to self determination up to secession.
2. Every nation, nationality and people shall have the right to speak, write and develop its language and to promote its culture, help it grow and flourish, and preserve its historical heritage.
3. Every nation, nationality or people in Ethiopia shall have the unrestricted right to administer itself; and this shall include the right to establish government institutions within the territory it inhabits and the right to fair representation in the federal and state governments.
4. The right to self determination up to secession of nation, nationality and peoples may be exercised:-
(a) where the demand for secession is approved by a two thirds (2/3rds) majority of the legislature of the nation, nationality or people concerned.
(b) where the Federal Government within three years upon receipt of the decision of the legislature of the nation, nationality or people demanding secession, organises a referendum for the nation, nationality or people demanding secession.
(c) where the demand for secession is supported by a simple majority vote in the referendum.
(d) where the Federal Government transfers power to the parliament of the nation, nationality or people which has opted for secession.
(e) where propert is partitioned in accordance with the law.
you do know it was the amharas and tigrayan habeshas under menalik that took the somali region under their abysinian empire,It's not in their political interests to do so and if we leave that leaves the Oromos to politically dominate the rest of Ethiopia since they won't be distracted in border disputes with us. Red is the Somali region's borders even without Dir Dhaba remaining in Ethiopia the rail line is completely in our territory in the event of a Galbeed succession. Berbera and Djibouti are their only feasible options at the moment. Economically vulnerable Ethiopia is the result.

How is that relevant? "Ethiopia" is really just a habesha state and it always has been. Somalis and Oromos don't belong in it imo.you do know it was the amharas and tigrayan habeshas under menalik that took the somali region under their abysinian empire,
Until they fix Xamar and al shabab, why even talk to Somaliland. That’s just counterintuitive.
Dumb as hell walahi. You get no respect trying to come somewhere when you can’t control your own backyard. I would also tell them to f*ck off. It’s just N&N propaganda I swear they’ve been mentioning these “talks” every 2 or 3 months or so for the past 3 years. Muuse is somewhere mirqaan plotting on the next land to steal talks with Mogadishu isn’t even in his head.
Reconciliation.
Menelik? He never reached really into Somali territory except the absolute edges and that was after the fall of Harar. You do realize Somali Galbeed fell to the british right? How else do you think the Sayid was buried in the edge of Somali region today?you do know it was the amharas and tigrayan habeshas under menalik that took the somali region under their abysinian empire,
At the event of a referendum they will just start reigniting a bunch of faux “historical” land claims and then that will essentially make it impossible for article 39 to ever be invoked. Oromos will pretty much only accept a “referendum” when the only places seceding are Qabri Dehre and Wardheer if even that. It's not in their political interests to do so and if we leave that leaves the Oromos to politically dominate the rest of Ethiopia since they won't be distracted in border disputes with us. If there could be reconciliation between Somalia and Somaliland they would have done it 30 years ago.
