Salt water is not the only source of water somalis have available if they had the smarts

Also Desalination can be solar powered, something somalia has in abundance

Desalination equipment is becoming portable and cheaper by the day. Our engineers should develop portable equipment manufacturered with parts from around the world to meet Somalias unique challenges.

Solar panel desalination isn't viable because you need around 5 KW for every metric tonne desalinated.

It doesn't matter how much sun there is in Somalia when you can't afford the panels and the infrastructure you need to make it happen.

A more long term approach if we had an NGO with larger funds is to build a solar panel manufacturing plant and use a fraction of the production to desalinate water.

You don't need to compete with the rest of the world on price or technology as long as there is a business model behind it that let's you keep the lights on.

Imagine drinking well water that is decontaminated with chlorine packets and filled into a jerry can designed and rated for petroleum products.

You can make this stuff up. :farmajoyaab:
This might sound like tin foil hat talk but the elites want to depopulate the world and Somalia has the 2nd highest fertility rate. Expect it to plummet in next 30 years.

I dont believe in depopulation. It's always the socialist conspiracy theorist that conveniently remove market economics from the equation. As the world increases with population so will trade and goods being sold. There's about 2-3 billion people coming online within the next decade. The market wants population growth and so do capitalists.

Somalia just needs to keep its population under 15million. All these men marrying 4 wives and abandoning 15 children is a threat to national security and the future of the countries wealth fund.

Bantus will over populate us if we dont control it. That is the greatest threat.

I don't get it.

If I donate you 100$ and you take it to buy goods from Larger NGOs on the ground why should I support you and not your supplier?
These larger NGOs bought their supplies from somewhere as well. You need a large amount of money to start up a company to begin with if you're expecting to have no middle man. They either need to start off with original cheap ideas and make their own inventions that don't require manufacturing companies or they're going to need a serious amount of money to start with.

Bantus aren't the problem. Somalis are.

Anyone who thinks human capital that is Loyal to your country is a threat is just looking to get elected.

We need more loyal Bantus not less. And we need less loyal Somalis not more.

Yes you are right. That's isn't what's up for discussion.

If Somali companies produced rice cheaper than Indian companies who do you think the balance sheet would favour? If Somalis can't produce rice, sugar or food on their own, NGOs will keep importing food and killing your local production

These so called Gofund me and photo op NGOs are useless and just destroy our image, when the drought was taking out the ppl livelihoods you could see how ineffective they were, it was the rain the saved us, ppl need a new mindset where we are less reliant on others.
You know what I think would be a great first start? Rice with added nutrients. Feed my starving children had an initiative about 3 weeks about that hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans volunteered for. While there I realized that nothing needed machines if you had enough man power. Free rice has a similar initiative. I think what these women could do is instead focus efforts on using plants and ingredients native to Somalia and help out these people. If they don't have tons of money to begin with it's going to require more than a month in Somalia. They'll need to speak to their qabiils, bring meaningful long term initiatives, speak to the politicians there, the people, ask them what will help them out the most, and work on it from there.

This is something a simple start up NGO can't/ do. That requires an agricultural revolution and I agree with you 100% on it however it's unrealistic for volunteer tourists and cheap women in their 20s

@LarryThePuntite

You are slowly starting to crawl over to the 'dark side' were true enlightenment beckons, you will keep asking those questions regarding the NGO's until those series of "why's" will make way for blaming them on NGO's 'ignorance', 'bureaucracy', 'misguidance', 'incompetence', 'accident' etc.

Like those quackademic PhD donkey merchants of ignoramus whom write piles of useless books highlighting extensively on were the NGO's have gone wrong like it was some benevolent organisation with a good heart that was simply lead astray through error.

That misguidance lasts for a few years with many taking it to their graves but a very few will connect the dots that the whole thing was set up by design and the game is rigged.

The whole purpose of the NGO's and it's affiliates is to ensure that everything you wrote never happens nor takes place, it was used to destroy not just our own agricultural base but the entire Africa.

There is absolutely nothing you will do about this until at least 50% of the population are awake to this like the tweets below, whatever land you cultivate you will never compete with their cheap imports that will instantly take you out of business, they practice protectionism themselves but free market for you.

To make matters worse they print credit into existence as they please backed by nothing, hence you will never compete, we seen what happened when Ghaddafi was planning Gold dinar as wikileaks exposed.

Africans created this mess because of regulation. Look how Uraguay and Chile have shifted thier markets and improved regulation and intertrade between Latin countries.

I know a Ugandan who imports vegetables and fruits into Europe because he's a EU citizen from Africa and has a trading company in Europe. Even after ridiculous tariffs he can still turn a profit because his COGs are cheaper than any non-African supplier.

Brother, if you throw 1000 challenges at entrepreneurs they just need 1 way to get it right.

Btw, do you know that in Japan when food is imported from Africa it is labelled and sold within the country as "Product of Japan"? Once you import a commodity and add value to it in the supply chain; origins and geography go out the window.

There's no doom here, just opportunity for those who see gold in the rubble.

Somalia will have deregulated regions built by private equity and entrepreneurs who want to create small industrial cities that support themselves and attract talent to them.

The market will not wait for politicians to make changes. In the very near future expect to see micro economic zones that are designed by and for private companies.

I always wanted to pair up with other Somali entrepreneurs and intellectuals across all regions of the Somali-sphere, to lay down the foundation a new city state called Horumar.

This city state will stay away from tribal and current Somali politics, and just focus on building business relations and infrastructure with it's neighbours.

If this city state project goes successful then that means the rest of the Somali-sphere has to follow in the footsteps of entrepreneurs and not clan elders.
