I was considering one, but next new car will likely be a Tesla or Mercedes

It’s suitable to them because they’re obese and have huge hips. The massive spaces inside and wide comfortable seat does wonders for them.

I find the American obsession with pickup trucks so strange. They're extremely inefficient and impractical for the average individual. Worse yet, they're aesthetically unpleasant. Red neck culture leaking into mainstream American culture

The only thing that holds me back is I am more of a SUV guy, hopefully next Tesla model introduced is one.
