I do occasionally notice this small sort of fascination of somali amongst my friend groups. However it stays as mere fascination for two reasons 1 because these are real life interactions that are being had so a person cant easily turn to dissing me Because im a high value man who dont do no cooning☝️. And 2 because im not active enough to witness this sort of behaviour in the wild

Every hooyo knows whats the best for us even the uk hooyos who lock us up at home with the dugsi. Because you need extra ordinary measures for extra ordinary people

They are TOO comfortable with us which is why they think they have an opening into our discussions (like diaspora arguments) it's wild I never tell my non somali friends everything about us because that's my people and soke things are meant to be kept private

Has the other ethnic minorities disdain for Somalis increased or declined? I can’t really tell. More Somalis than ever seem aware of it now and are calling out the remarks that were always made and still reused and resurface.

It's always been there I think it just went under the radar when we fought for our place and it became taboo to be racist and xenophobic now look at the times where people are becoming increasingly racist (probs bc the world became more RW) without consequences its allowed these sentiments to come out again. It'll probably cycle around again in another couple of years

I think they create these topics just to bait people into joining their lives and then start making things up. I’ve seen lives where other Africans, including Madows, were degrading Somalis both men and women. They hate us because our community is insular, and once we form a community outside of Somalia, we actually build it from scratch rather than depending on others.

For instance, when you rely on other communities, they can dictate which parts of your culture and identity you must lose in order to fit into the spaces they created. But when you build your own mosques, grocery stores, malls, apartment buildings, and even elect congressmen to represent your identity that’s when the hate begins. It’s the attitude of, “How dare you set up shop in our neighborhood?”

Just look at what Somalis have accomplished in the West in less than 40 years we have representatives in government in nearly every Western and East African country. They assumed that because Somalis came from a war torn country, we would be easy to exploit, but the opposite happened. We helped them more than they helped us. We revitalized abandoned States and made them our own.

Now, if you ask any American what Minnesota is known for, they will mention Somalis before any other group that has lived there for centuries.
