Somalis, and I'm talking about real Somalis, not Hawiye, must use the Geez script. We were Ethiopians but were excluded for one reason or another, it's not too late to join them.

Oromos (a language very close to Somali), Afar, etc. use this script, so why shouldn't we?
There’s always been a diff between Christian Highland Abyssinians (Habasha) and Muslim Lowland Zayla’i (Somalis, Harla, Hararis etc). I could see your point if you’re talking about Axum, but we’ve long since been separated

I keep seeing this osmaanya script on the online somalisphere. It's so damn cringe. Don't you think it's embarassing that you guys keep pushing this ridiculous script that was only invented in the 1920's. It makes Somalis look really insecure. I feel like Xabeshis are laughing at us. Their scripts were created over a thousand years ago, and now you have 2023 faraaxs trying to spread this nonsense script. It makes us look self-hating.
Xabeshis had their script invented by the Sabaean Arabians, they only adopted it during South Arabian colonization. We should have modernly adopted Arabic like how the Persians and Desis do it, no shame in that. Tho we’ve had scripts tho us Muslim Horners had many scripts natively invented from the Harla (urbanized somalis) and even the hararis used them too, not counting natively we also used Sabaean texts as well.

I’m an MJ and related to kenadiid but I hate it. I hate that murtards and β€œmacrobia” losers use it, and anyway the wadaadic script would work better for Somali.

Osmanya script should be forgotten it's a failed script and should be regarded as a thing of the past , Arabic should suffice insha'allah
We need to start a whole program again to teach the nomads and spread the script, ganna take a lot of work

Japan is a great example of multiple scripts used concurrently, something Somalia could do as well:

Latin script for secular education, it has already demonstrated how fast it can be adopted on a massive scale.

Arabic script for religious education and tourism from the Islamic world; Somalia’s cities and beaches have the ideal climate that many major Muslim countries like Kazakhstan and Kuwait lack, add safari parks and its a home run. Things have to settle down first.

Sumado / Osmanya - Kaddare script for cultural prestige; think billboards, shop signs, pamphlets, guides about the country etc.

These self-haters on here don't understand the importance of cultural prestige and cultural pride. They want us on the world-stage, wearing Khaleeji robes and copying and pasting whatever Arabs do.

Ge'ez looks like dancing people.

Now that I look at, they do seem different. You gotta focus on them to see it tho, at first glance, they’re almost the same imo.
And for that reason I think it should be abandoned. If yall don’t wanna abandon it, then bring proof it isn’t motivated/influenced by the xabesha script.

We don't have to bring proof of anything and nobody forced you to use it.

Legit this over the other knockoff. Maybe we should go to the wadaad script? That one at least has history
I'd prefer all documentation being in lughat ul-jaziira laakin wadaad is appropriate as well. In my opinion Somali is a language meant to be spoken amongst the masses not written down, our official languages should be Arabic and English
