Only investments can save PM Khayre, not politics

Looking at the situation in Mogadishu and Somalia in general, President Farmaajo still has widespread support, but if PM Khayre is ousted, than President Farmaajo will be significantly weakened and the administration could easily fall prey to certain hyenas (as planned by the UAE.)

I don't understand why this administration doesn't bring large investments into the country, in order to spur job growth.

Everyone in the government talks about al kebab this and al kebab that. Somalia isn't Afghanistan, or Iraq, Somalia is literally paradise compared to what those two countries go through, yet their governments focus INTENSIVELY on creating jobs for their people, because a new army is very expensive, both to set up and the annual running costs.
This government won't survive without investments.

PM Khayre and President Farmaajo need to get their head out of the sand and focus on job creation for the youth, who're being disillusioned and groomed to kill our people by tanzanian/ugandan/kenyan bantus, pakis, arabs and white EX-CONverts that fill up +90% of al kebab's ranks (arabs, pakis and white ex-converts at the top of the hiearchy, ugandans etc as the foot soldiers.)

Are they trying to tell us that EVERY single Minister and department is focused on al kebab??

Anti-terrorism by itself does not a nation build.

I support this government through and through, but time to cut the b.s has arrived.

Each Minister needs to do what it says on their job description, and focus ONLY on that.

The government is cash strapped, yet unfortunately, doesn't put any effort into attracting new investments that can act as new revenue streams, to pay for the new army + social facilities such as health care in the field of modern maternity wards and mental health clinics, instead of our most vulnerable being chained to trees like animals. We need to start doing better for our people, this can't continue.

I haven't heard a single pip from the Minister of Commerce since the London conference, what is she working on at the moment? How is she this invisible?

Why does the Minister for Foreign Affairs AND Minister of Commerce and Industry BOTH cover investments, yet not one single achievement put between them to date. I still support them, but they need to do better.

What happened to the new investment promotion agency that President Farmaajo talked about, when he was first elected?

PM Khayre and the government know very well, who the domestic enemies are (inefficient monopolies.) Steps should be taken to limit their corruption of the lower government employees.

PM Khayre should set up a way for investors to directly communicate with the administration, to bypass all the corruption and gate-keeping. We have to do better.

Social media is good, but ANY Minister who hasn't yet, after all these months, built a properly functioning website to disseminate information as a starting point, whether investments/education/health care/agriculture, should be FIRED ON THE SPOT. It's like a soldier without polished boots =/signifies lack of discipline, laziness and nin-existent initiative. The budget is there, but the initiative isn't, clearly.

Focusing solely on social media, rather than combination of social media + official websites, can also provide ammo for the opponents, such as putting a negative spin on "
AR FARMAAJO II GEEYA" to create "Igu Sawir."

Ideally, an overhaul or a creation of a single IT department to handle all the websites should be created.

PM Khayre has a Masters Degree in business and a B.Sc in politics, but doesn't focus on investments. He knows better, so he needs to do better.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hassan_Ali_Khayre
"After graduating in 1998 with a degree in political science and minor in sociology, Khayre went on to complete his MBA at Edinburgh Business School, the graduate school of business of Heriot-Watt University, in 2001.[6]"

http://radiodalsan.com/en/somalia-economic-update-mobilizing-domestic-revenue-to-rebuild-somalia/
"Growth in 2017 will decelerate to 2.5 percent in real terms, although it is expected to pick up pace in subsequent years."
This doesn't bode well for the current administration, and virtually guarantees PM Khayre will face impeachment by January, judging by all the enemies circulating around them, at the moment.

According to the grapvines in xamar, the number one weapon used against President Farmaajo and PM Khayre, by HSM, Damuul Jadiid and the 100 MP's, is the lack of large and inclusive investments and large job creation measures, spread amongst the local population through the (social) network of certain influential businessmen and monopolies, that PM Khayre has already courageously pointed out.

This will also be the main attack points when the impeachment comes, and yes, it will, because most of our parliament is composed of not those who're elected by the people for the people, but by people who have paid exorbitant fees, in the hopes of becoming elected to the cabinet. A new cabinet gives everyone a 2nd chance for a shot at the limelight.

People in Somalia have become accustomed to the chaos, and are mentally very resilient against al kebab's violence, so let's put the violence aside for a sec. A young person who's suffering from either hunger, poverty and or unemployment, is reminded of this everywhere they go, every single day, by Tv/radio/website commercials, popular songs and lifestyle of entertainers, films, whatsapp groups, friends who did the tahrib and are bragging through facebook even though they're homeless in the EU, fresh food markets, spice markets, when they want to go on a date, clothing and fashion stores, high end restaurants/social hot-spots and especially, all the flashy diaspora coming back to stunt on their own people.

"The government should only focus on anti-terrorism" you say?

Let's take a superficial look at just the obvious and immediate benefits of large investments and job creation.

Large investments that create direct jobs for the youth will contribute to:

1. Higher Federal annual budget due to increased taxes.
2. Fortify the young population against the propaganda to take up arms against the government, whether qabil militias or al kebab.
3. greatly decrease tahribs
4. put a full stop to the number of women being shipped to the arab countries
5. a more positive global image for somalinimo
6. a better health care system for our most vulnerable (subsequently more jobs created such as nurse positions)
7. attract further Foreign Direct Investments, due to the positive externalities of the previous FDI (it's the gift that keeps on giving.)
8. sharply decrease tribalism and clan infighting all across the country (working people don't have time or energy to focus on negativity, idleness is the devils workshop comes to mind.)
9. create a defense against HSM and the 100 MP's that plot for the impeachment of PM Khayre before next January
10. the successful expelling of all Bantu/Amison rapists in 2018, due to a strengthened army via larger government revenues that can support the armed foces/security apparatus without foreign donors
11. defend against Xabashi + Kenyan sh** stirring along not only clan lines, but generational lines that turn the youth against the current administration, to aid future planned absorption of federal states (many states already use xabashi currency as legal tender.)
12. Keeping President Farmaajo AND PM Khayre beyond 2020 for the next election

It's not rocket science. 70% of all Somalis are under 35 years old, a youth that is earning a lively hood = happy voters.

Even a single large investment that directly creates jobs for the youth, is enough to save PM Khayre until 2020.

The only reason is he took the position of bigger clan while he is from minor one.

The guy is a performer and he has brought the work ethics and system of the Scandinavians with him. Runtii he is better positioned politically than even farmaajo in the future!

@Cadmus security and stability are crucial to any investment from outside which can create jobs and rapid growth.

No one will invest in a volatile country and where there is a risk of insecurity as things might erupt any moment and you loose asssets worth billions.

Khayre's awesome. Don't let fools who would gather in a foreign country to impeach him control the narrative

Tell them brother!

Why doesn't he invite investment to the country?

Because the Republic is in ruins and the rule of law is absent and no company will risk million dollar investments with the unstable situation and even more importantly the lack of basic guarantees under the law. In Somalia sadly, the sword is mightier then the pen and add to that clan-relations and as such, the best thing that the Prime Minister can do is to restore the rule of law and minimize the instability and that alone is a great challenge.

26 year of destruction can't be undone in 4 years and incremental stability is better than short-lived investments.

With blood and Iron will we reach the fatherland
It doesn't matter, the Oromo, Kenyans,Ugandans and even Tanzanians are taking the Jobs from Somalis.
Should make it so that passports, birth certificates, or citizenship ID, health cards and Tax file number are required for a job. that way invaders will just leave on their own.

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

I don't get the hate towards him aswell. Somalis always tend to find some sort of issue with anyone.

What has he done? I am not expecting a lot in the seven months they're in power, but at least come up with a one year plan and communicate your plans with the people. That way we can determine whether their goals have been met or not.

Huge profits trump's instability.

There a dozen virgin industries in Somalia where new billionaires are waiting to be created.

If the government was genuine (and not the life sucking parasites they are in every state) and supported companies through rule of law; anyone smart enough will rush to invest.

Businesses don't even need tax exemptions as the profits in an unsaturated market will make up for it.

Risks such as bombings and sabotage could be reduced through insurance and a stronger private security market.

Give a competent security entrepreneur a couple million and a license to carry out security services and they'll have a huge chunk of Mogadishu safer than anywhere in Africa.

Incrementalism will keep us in the same position for the next 8 years.

There needs to be a big push towards stopping the chaos and the only thing that can do that is the government owning the biggest stick.

Since the international community won't help us in this regard we can only do this ourselves but the government is broke.

So the only solution is to quickly create corporate and contract laws and run investment initiatives asap to get some revenue in.

Playing politics with fake statesmen will just get us going round in a circle... exactly how our rivals want us.

We've been in a limbo for over a decade and I don't think it's a coincidence.

A top global consultancy could help draw up the laws we need to kick-start investments for just a few millions and within 6 months.

Private security functions in where there is already some sort of stability with functioning government and security apparatus.

Private security will not be effective in Somalia and a good example is look at Afghanistan and Iraq very similar to. Somalia and private security has failed even after billions of invest in decades

If we attract large investments, then that's not a problem. They can do the jobs that don't require any skill sets 10-15 years into the future, and we can focus on developing a core base of technically skilled labor force that can drive industrialization, which is essential if we are to survive as a nation. Steel, manufacturing, construction, agriculture etc. These industries will add untold value to our yearly GDP.

That would be even worse than HSM, as Shariff brought blackwater, a company connected to child trafficking rings as seen in Iraq.

I don't know about other people, but I'm a big supporter of Khayre and believe he's the right guy, if I didn't care about him, then i would've kept quiet. I'm trying to highlight how he can continue to keep his job while developing the nation. Investments are the way to go. The youth need jobs. We really take it for granted how easy we can become employed in the west, our people back home don't have that option brother. We have an amazing opportunity to build our beautiful country and limit suffering at the same time.

EXACTLY. The guy is technically perfect for the job, he just needs to take a macro look at his job as the pressures in Xamar are massive, whatever position you have, as everyone is gunning for your position. He has done more to clean up the country then the previous administration could ever dream of. Now he just needs to create jobs and the guy will hit a straight home run.
Yes, the Scandinavian system is perfectly suited to Somalia, especially if the entire government is digitized in order to limit corruption and under the table transactions via unregulated mobile money. You can't drink a glass of water in Scandinavia without it being linked to your social security number. That system would lock down Somalia and afford the government the time and space to fix the economy. The key to all of this, including defending himself successfully against those that use qabil against him, is investments.

Money doesn't talk, it screams.

That's why I mentioned the license part.

Back then they were more like militias and there were was no rule of law on how they should operate.

I'd rather have a competent police force but if you don't pay them properly I'd be more wary of them than strangers.

Regulate weapons control and have them work closely with the government security apparatus. This way we'll lessen the burden on the government and if done right create a more safer environment to do business whilst creating thousands of jobs in security.

However you might be right as we're lacking professionalism in Somalia and without it we'll end up with too many accidents.
