Omar Fateh running for Mayor of Minneapolis

They really showed how unhinged and disconnected from reality they are.
Just look at this:

He’s angrily ranting under a post about a "People Over Parking" bill a policy aimed at addressing housing shortages caused by rigid parking zoning laws. The bill is designed to lower construction costs and promote housing and commercial development near public transportation.

Jamal Osman was one of the people defending him. For context, Charlie Kirk is a Christian nationalist who openly supports the idea of America being a white, Christian-majority ethno-state. That’s why he’s reacting so irrationally, it challenges the vision he’s trying to push.

What he said β€œ@OmarFatehMN shows up, does the work, and delivers for Minneapolis neighbors”is 100% true. That’s exactly why so many people will be supporting him in the mayoral race.

Absolutely. Take all money out of all countries' politics. Just, umm, please wait until after I begin and end my political career, okay? Huh? Why? No reason, bro...
The American left is really dumb they occasionally have good policy but there simply refuse to let go of the LGBT and the BLM DEI nonsense which is a massive turn of to the white suburban voters and white working class

Bernie sanders is to old and the NYC mayor can’t run cause he was not born in America so he can’t run for president

AOC might try but she has a arrogant bossy feminist attitude that makes her lack national appeal

I’m convinced there controlled opposition

Also, all these Republican MAGA weirdos raging at him are completely out of touch. He’s running for mayor in a city that’s nearly 90% progressive and consistently votes for social democratic DFLers at both the local and state levels.

They act like he’s going to radically change the political landscape when in reality, Minneapolis has already implemented many of the policies he supports. What he’s proposing isn’t extreme for that city , it reflects what the majority of residents already want. Minneapolis is, and has long been, a progressive city.

Politics in America isn’t so different from Somalia’s. In the U.S., corporate donors control the system in Somalia(Especially the FGS), it’s foreign donors. Either way, the public grows disillusioned for the same reasons.

Despite being wealthy, the U.S. has some of the worst outcomes among OECD nations:

You see a similar contrast at local levels. Just like how Minneapolis or Vermont are more progressive and responsive due to local funding, some Somali federal states with less donor dependency also tend to be more accountable and people-focused.

Governments that are locally funded and inclusive tend to be less corrupt and more effective , everywhere.
He makes some good points but American definitely live much better lives than people in Germany and Britain our disposable income puts us in the same category as Switzerland and Luxembourg

German broadband is so bad my friends have told me they got better internet in developing nations and the energy crisis has made everything really expensive

Britain is a country whose standard of living has deteriorated drastically since 2007 GDP adjusted for PPP there 28th while America is 9th and wages have been stagnant and the NHS is broken people wait months for an appointment
