Oromo is an ethnic group, but we did assimilate a lot of others, because that was our culture back then, but that alone does not mean that ''we're not an ethnic group,'' you know little to nothing about Oromo's, so no.. you are not qualified to define what we are or aren't. We fit every criteria for an ethnic group, the very fact that I am sitting here stating simple, well known facts to an adult, shows something is wrong; either you have an internalized bias/hatred for Oromo's, that comes out when Oromo's are discussed, or you are simply ignorant. Indeed, as Ibn Qayyim said: if you want a taste of what's in a person's heart, pay attention to their words.
How do you know about our lineage, when you know nothing about us? Tell me more then, who is borana? who is barentu? what is maccaa, tuulama, arsi, jiddu, rayyaa, Horo, gurraachaa, Sadacha, Daalle, Dullacha, etc...and others? Do not google it, tell me from your knowledge, if you are truthful!
I've seen plenty of somalis with so called wide noses, that's a feature you can find all over the world, you can also find thinner noses all over the world- sorry, that's not good enough of an argument, try again please. Look at the Puntland president, dude has so called bantu features, is he not a somali? like it or not, somali's are diverse too, and there is no one single somali look, although i know you guys love and adore light skinned people with thinner noses and lips, and look down upon the darker peoples- except for those with common sense enough to know that all of Allaah's creations are beautiful, and it is the Piety of the heart, actions, beliefs, that makes one superior or inferior!
Oh, soooo Oromo's aren't a cushitic speaking peoples then? Lol, we're the largest group of cushitic language speakers. You are making it an entirely different argument, it's not about claiming what you are, and aren't- nobody is saying we're the same, but we're saying we're related, and share things, yet you are too stubborn to admit what is known by scholars, students, laymen and laywomen. This is once again, either due to stubbornness, ignorance, or perhaps arrogance mixed with a bit of anti Oromo hatred/feelings.
I've met plenty of somalis OFFLINE, and NONE would say we're not related, cousins in a sense, and they all assumed I was one of them, until asking and I confirmed my being Oromo.
PL's President doesn't have Bantu features, he's overweight. Speak for your own people
Nobody cares what language you speak or what your ethnic group is, just stay out of Somali lands or face the repercussions.
