Use this thread to ask questions relating to Islam that you feel doesn't require a thread of it's own .

Let me start it off by asking is their a sect or branch within sufism called "Ahmadiyah" ?

To each their own
When a person converts to Islam why do they call them a revert?

Never understood that because only ex-muslims can revert because reverting literal definition is: to return to (a previous state, practice, topic, etc.)

It would seem much more accurate and practically just to call them a convert but that doesn't seem like the reality so can someone explain it?

Those guys you reference believe in a prophet after Muhammad who came from India. They are not Muslims, which is agreed by Shias and Sunnis.

The belief behind that is, everyone is born a Muslim until their parents turn them into whatever they are(Christian/Jew/Buddhist/etc).

Because we believe every person is born a Muslim (in submission to Allah) due to fitrah (their natural state).

@Marcus,

The Ahmediyya medulla is referencing are a Sufi Tariqa. Not to be confused with the Ahmediyya/Qadiani group from Pakistan.
