19 million in the whole country? Damn we are underpopulated asf considering the sheer size of the land. We should be like 80-90 million realistically.

however its gone drastically since 2010 alhamdulillah and we havent reached the peak yet

Huge poor population is not good
huge population = it can sustain itself and it keeps rising. Big population and poor is an oxymoron in itself because it means they cant sustain themselves hence they will die out and nature wins. Poverty = high mortality rates.

huge population = industrialisation and economy boost. It actually takes us out of poverty. There is no country in this world with a big population that is doing as bad as us right now.

China and India and the US are giants. Even the English have a population of 50 million scattered around the world with their tiny Island.

however you are right. A middle ground is good so I would say somalia should realistically have a population of around 40-50 million. Being underpopulated is not good nor is being overpopulated.

I don't know to what extent I trust the new figures, but they are largely in line with what I expect.

My only problem would be with the figures for Bakool and Lower Shabelle. Their populations have been leaving for Banaadir and Baydhabo over the past decade.

Population figures for Woqooyi Galbeed have the opposite problem, they are too low.

728k in Dayniile. Only Hargeisa and Bosaaso are larger than Dayniile lol

Baydhabo and Dayniile have the same population which makes sense because Dayniile is known as new Mogadishu or caasimade labaad.

The bulk of lower shabelle’s population is concentrated in Afgooye and Merca and that’s because they are strategically located near the capital. There are no incentives for people in Afgooye district to move to Xamar when it’s only 17 miles away.

migration towards xamar seems to be very high over the past ten years according to the stats which regions are the people mainly coming from ?
