No its not about blaming thyroid. Some people have these diseases that make weight loss harder. I don't believe in calorie counting. It's all about the type of food you eat.

You could be eating straight up garbage, count your calories, and still lose weight.
Literally all you have to do to lose weight is eat less than your total daily energy expenditure. That's it. If it's 2300 calories a day and you eat 1800 for a week, you've lost a pound. Continue and you'll lose a pound every week from diet alone. Add cardio and weightlifting, you'll burn fat and build muscle, and lose even more weight.
It's that simple.
