It's both. Somalis were fully purged after li iyasu was taken out in a coup. Ethiopian troops came in to harar and thousands of somalis in harar were systematically hunted down.

But somalis migrated back to haarr after that and even now there is a sizeable pouplation.

Harar is not the Harar we know today the REAL city of Harar is the Jugol before that the outside of Harar was countryside and not the city we see it as todays. today the whole area up to Kombolcha is called Harar. Harar is oromo land but the Jugol is where most Adares live.
