I have a very different set of standards for men that are supposed to be the pillar of the Islamic community and who supposedly fear Allah. This is not the conduct of a person of knowlege. The average idiot? Yes, but an Imaam? Hell NO.

Unfortunately, this disease of insulting women and implying they are s ect to get at other men is a major problem, but it goes against our islamic principles. If people that are supposedly more religious are behaving this way, then what hope is there for the male masses?

Nowhere is it acceptable in either the Quran or in the Sunnah of the Prophet PBUH to any innocent women of prostitution, whether singly or in groups. Such accusations levelled at groups of people are no different than those aimed at individuals.

“Verily, those who accuse chaste women, who never even think of anything touching their chastity and are good believers, are cursed in this life and in the Hereafter, and for them will be a great torment” [an-Noor 24:23]

This refers to every chaste woman that is not known to have committed zina and this definition is accepted as such by every theological school universally. At-Tabari RA specifically defined chaste women as those who refrain from zina and are believers in Allah.

This guy's words were "There are high rates of prostitution among somali women in places like Atlanta and other places" - meaning out of all of the Somali women in Atlanta, but many of them are prostitutes. The burden of proof now falls on him to prove that what he said is true. He is being called out on not having statistics, let alone witnesses - if he cannot back up what he said, he needs to be held accountable.

Furthermore, in addition to being lashed for slandering a chaste women, the testimony of such men is expressly forbade from being listened to or accepted for the remainder of their lives. This is from the Quran itself.

Slander is considered a "hudud" offence (from the Arabic word meaning "boundaries" or "limits" - it cannot be pardoned by the individuals involved or by the state. This is a crime that goes directly against the Word of God as it crosses human limits into the domain of the Almighty.

«So here is the issue that needs to be clarified:Many people use the abbreviation “SAW,” “SAWS,” or “PBUH” to fulfill this obligation in their writing. So to abbreviate it using the letter SAAD or the word SAAD-LAAM-‘AYN-MEEM is not a supplication nor is it worship, whether it occurs in speech or writing. For this reason, this abbreviation was not used by the the first three generations, those that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) testified to their goodness.” [8] “SAAD” and “SAAD-LAAM-‘AYN-MEEM” are often used in some Arabic books. The English equivalents of these abbreviations would be: SAW, SAWS, SAAWS, PBUH, and the likes. Al-Fayrooz-Abaadee said, “It is not appropriate to use symbols or abbreviations to refer to salaah and salaam, as some of the lazy ones do, as well as some ignorant people and even some students of knowledge – they write ‘SAAD-LAAM-‘AYN-MEEM’ instead of writing ‘sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam.'” [9] Ahmad Shaakir said, “It is the absurd tradition of some of the later generations that they abbreviate the writing of ‘sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam.'” [10] Wasee Allaah ‘Abbaas said, “It is not permissible to abbreviate the salaams in general in one’s writing, just as it is not permissible to abbreviate the salaah and salaam on the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam). It is also not permissible to abbreviate either of these in one’s speech.” [11] And Allaah knows best. May the most perfect and complete salaah and salaam be upon our beloved Messenger, and upon his noble family and companions.»
