Nah, it’s all a big shell game. Basically they know none of this is going to work but they are also not real states that are independent like PL, FGS provides a lot for them. They will wait until the last second to jump off and screw Culusow over just like Blackie did. It’s their best strategy to survive and they have no other choice. It will come down to the final possession and Culusow won’t have the ball just like Farmaajo didn’t.

While I think the implementation is foolish. Hsm is right on the fact that if Somalia ever wants to develop there needs to be a unified political party that governs Somalia. This charade of politicking between clan elites and politicians means nothing gets done and that foreign governments can just bribe a president or a few influential clan elites and get what they want. This is one of the few advantages the fgs has over Somaliland and puntland which as states ruled by mainly one clan poltical party's won't change anything.

All the east asian countries that developed basically had one main poltical party that ruled and through this were able to get stuff done and develop quickly.

Many things are wrong with your understanding of JL/Gedo and HSMs power in Xamar its like you forgot the whole Farmajo term or HSMs first term.

Xamar is not a valuable hostage like many think. The states will turn their backs and the government will revert to what it was under Cali Mahdi or C. Salaad.

It’s more then likely that a complete dismissal of the IC would just lead to the IC officially bypassing Xamar moving forward with aid. They dont need to grant secession to essentially kill the FGS.

People keep saying waa la kala tagaa but this is already the case and we just need to accept the reality. Puntland rejects any modicum of government from Mogadishu. Central bank,ID, Judiciary, foreign policy, taxation, customs. And Jubaland is just a warlord holding Kismayo hostage.
