But still for Somalis I feel like throughout our history and beauty standards it's never been about "Lightskin vs Darkskin" We value Aquiline/Traditional Somali Features over Complexion, it's these guys that salivate over lightskin and darkskin politics, and try so desperately to project these desires onto us when we don't perceive beauty that way and these pathetic sjw are assisting them in trying to force this foreign perception of beauty onto us.

I'm telling for them its simply just "lightskin" as their standard of beauty whereas for us it's a lot more nuances than just that.

Yeah 100% the Iman lookalike girls are top tier, creme of the crop

nobody beats that look :lawd:

but im getting tired of these SJWs who seem to have no problem with Ethiopians misrepresenting their people but jump on us if we dare to make any content involving anyone lighter than a Dinka

Exactly Iman is a perfect example actually.

They'd consider her "Darkskin" yet Iman eclipses them all in Beauty and her complexion isn't the main gift but rather her features/phenotypes and that's what Somalis care about more than the complexion politics they salivate over.

The Standard for them is in hell-just be Lightskin or a lighter complexion and deep down they recognize Somalis aren't like that and primarily focus on features that they just don't possess hence the constant calaacal

I got 4a hair. Most somalis I've run into with Type 4 hair have the same hair texture as me.

I've only met Somali bantus with 4c. I've met a few somalis with mostly 4b hair though.
im gonna be honest, none of the somali bantus ive met have 4c hair lol. I'm sure some do but that should say enough regarding Ethnic Somalis and the possibility of 4c hair.

"We value Aquiline/Traditional Somali Features over Complexion"

Hot take but I feel like a decent amount of our diasporan community doesn't know this.

Like I wouldn't be surprised if there were dark skin xalimos that assumed they weren't getting approached just because they were dark skin. Especially if these chicks are a bit too big or ugly. No ones is telling them they're ugly or big so they're just assuming it's because they're dark.

We also have a bunch of young Somalis in the diaspora that weren't raised in communities packed with somalis. Some of the young darkskin Somali women raised in the communities probably weren't being approached because some of the young Somali men around them were only chasing after Cadaans and lightskins :mjkkk: . These is common dating problem that happens with all black people that live in predominantly white areas though.

I legit grew up in one of the Blackest regions of American. I've seen all types of darkskin madow women in relationships with black men my whole life. Cultured black men overall don't have any problem with dating darkskin women. The only darkskin Madow women struggling to date right now here in america either live in areas with small black communities or are just too ugly.

Yh true but that's exactly because they're diaspora and have sustain and absorbed this rotten mindset from being here and around these different non-somali groups rather than something natural and homegrown but I was talking more on Somali Society for the Majority of our history since all this Complexion Politics is super recent.

Think about it, Diaspora watch Cadaan Shows with Cadaan Casts that glorify Cadaans and this is in every facet of entertainment so it can distort your perception of beauty especially since the Somali is completely non-existent in this entertainment that is consumed in great numbers.

For the Majority of Somali History though our Beauty has been very nuanced and in fact our Seismic poetry highlights the desire of the deep dark-brown complexion and standard features Somalis have.

But yh you're right to a degree.

I don’t think you’re better than them for saying this? Nasriin herself is the lightskin activist speaking on behalf of darkskin. Why are the “dhuxul” the ones catching strays. And you know that term isn’t nice either.

This is why these sorts of discussions are horrible for a platform such as tiktok which prioritises quick uninformed ragebait over everything else. Social media is the root of all strife

If there had to be a platform for these discussions maybe youtube because it forces you to articulate your points properly and the comments arent as toxic but all platforms have their issues
