If he’s from a Bani Hilal clan as he claims he probably won’t. They seem almost entirely dominated by a very young J-P58 lineage like https://www.yfull.com/tree/J-ZS4753/

If he is from a historical Arab-Berber confederation then yes he will have a very high chance of E-M81. Many such Arab-Berber confederation exists in the Maghreb & Egypt like the infamous Hawarra of Upper Egypt & Libya or the Tekna & Chaouia confederations of Morocco. The Bedouins seem to have absorbed nomadic Berber groups quite easily when they ravaged the Maghreb in the 1000s. The mountain & settled Berbers of Morocco & Algeria though stayed intact.

@Doctorabdi the Ethiopian is probably nonsense. My father who has no Arab or recent Ethiopian ancestry whatsoever gets 5% while my mother who has very minor Arab ancestry gets 8%. It’s probably just Arabian.
