@Doctorabdi the Ethiopian is probably nonsense. My father who has no Arab or recent Ethiopian ancestry whatsoever gets 5% while my mother who has very minor Arab ancestry gets 8%. It’s probably just Arabian.

Makes sense, nearly all the somalis i've seen on ancestrydna get 2-5 % habesha likely just a proxy for minor arabian baked in

IllustrstiveDNA is terrible. It gives me 8% North African and inflates my wife’s North African. I wouldn’t take it seriously. Just try to get your actual G25 cords

You're 11.2% Arab including what is in the Somali, maybe tops 14% (since one of the few samples I used had 2.2% Arab or Natufian). That does indeed make your father on the higher end of Arab for the average Moroccan urbanite. You seem to have the average of many things. Like European ancestry is half of that the samples from Casablanca. So is your West African related stuff. Your Iberomaurusian is on the lower end. Which makes sense as you have elevated Arab. Your father would have about 20%.

Your father is maybe 22-30% Arab (it can probably elevate towards 30% if one include a profile that is slightly Levant mixed, since Arabs came with ancestry from the Levant, though some of it could be some type of Punic ancestry that is separate. But strictly conservatively speaking 22-25% Peninsula Arab). 8% West African. 30% EEF. 4% Yamnaya. 3% WHG. 20% Ibreromaursian. 4.4% Caucasus (this could be lower for other Levant stuff) with slight other West Asian stuff that is probably Levant related.

I just did a rough reading there.

Ah that makes sense thanks sxb, my father to be exact is algerian but he comes from the plains, the banu hilal are very much documented in the city to the point where the city was called "the city of arabs". So those traditions were indeed correct, very intriguing stuff
