My hot take: the “n word” technically doesn’t even have an offensive meaning and black people should stop giving af

I was at Walmart the other day I was leaving and there was a crowd of cadaan guys in there late teens. I over heard couple of them dapping each other up. A couple of them said to each other " what's up my Negan :drakelaugh:". The cadaan have reclaimed the N word. Negan is actually the term to mean king in Ethiopian. Not gone lie it sounded catchy :umad:

SUMMARRYYY: black people shouldn’t gaf about the word “n*gger” because technically the meaning of the word is literally just “black”, the only reason it’s offensive is because it keeps being used in an “offensive way” BECAUSE black people get offended highkey black people fumbled trying to “reclaim” the word but then limiting it to only black people cuz now it can still be used against black/african people.

Now ALTERNATIVELY, imagine if the n word either 1. Went out of use or 2. was reclaimed in a manner where it was socially “allowed” for everyone to say, the offensive nature would have been lost which honestly would have stumped a lot of cunsuuris, imagine them having to scramble for a proper slur instead of just jumping to “n*gger” everytime because they KNOW that’s what riles maadows up??? :russ::lolbron::chrisfreshhah:

Now my historical evidence:

I know historically the word was used in an extremely derogatory way but let’s deep this okay…… what does “n*gger” actually MEAN????? than just being a mean word for black people???? :hmm:

If we look into the linguistic history the root word for “n*gger” pretty much is “negro” which just boils down to “black”. Btw anyone familiar with Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian etc would know ironically enough while “negro” is considered offensive in the west it is a regular everyday word over there and in Latin America

Don’t yall think it’s interesting the word “n*gger” doesn’t really have an inherently offensive meaning, other than just being black and it being USED as an insult? this must also be the reason why it was easy for black people to reclaim the word “nigga” because in a literal sense all it means is “black”

My point is the literal MEANING of the word isn’t actually truly offensive when you deep it all that’s offensive is the use itself

And in my opinion the fact that the word is offensive at all is technically the greatest psyop in history because think about this, on a subconscious level this slur straight up makes the state of being black/african in itself an insult… not only this but the fact is happened to be the most “OFFENSIVE” ONE?? COME TF ONN?

Am I tweaking or not who wants to expand on my philosophical thoughts come on yall think deep and out of the box, I also wanna know why the slur “n*gger” survived the longest out of all other slurs against black people from back in the day?!
I get what you mean but I agree and disagree with you in the same time. I agree that we shouldn't let words influence us to the point that we end up blowing up.

However, the N-word is different. It's not just a term that means black, it's literally a title of low standing and status. It's quite literally a statement used by white people to belittle black people, a term that means "I'm superior to you and you are inferior to me, because you're a N-word and I'm the master race."

Is that how all people use the term today? Probably not. However a lot of racist people do say the word for that exact reason. It's a term that's meant to literally belittle you as a black person in social standing.

The idea of taking back the word is something I personally thought wasn't a good idea. But it sort of makes sense and on a social level, it is empowerment. Basically you're banning white people from using a word that belittled you, lowering their power to be abusive, and then adjusting the word as an exclusive term for black people as a term of endearment. And then, the term is made cool on a cultural level, so there's social standing gained from people who use the word this way. It's essentially a complete rewrite of the word.

Again, I don't think it's a good idea, because you can't technically say that adjusted word means the same thing, or that would imply black people are belittling themselves (which isn't true), so they'd have to admit that the word isn't bad, but is just exclusive, which opens a can of worms on social equality. It was probably a better idea just to ban the racist word all together and be done with it IMHO.

“banning the word” just gives the word more power as opposed to letting it fall out of use or desensitizing people to it so the offensive nature is lost

like idk why people think it even make sense there will always be “racist” people who don’t give a damn, so trying to “ban” the n word never work in any universe, matter of fact by trying to “ban” it you just giving these mfs a gold card to get you angry :camby::snoop:

Like don’t you think it’s ironic the “banned” word happens to be the one most often? Like there were a lottt of slurs used trust me and n*gger wasn’t the worst:Peaches2: they used to call black people alligator bait just look that shit UPP omfg

The ‘N’ word is actually what a lot of AAs heard before white supremacists lynched them and laughed whilst they swung from a tree pre-1970s. What I wrote is incredibly graphic but it’s the only way to get youngsters with no understanding of historical realities to actually think.

These rappers and other groups trying to normalize the word are disrespectful. Even worse when it’s some AAs trying to normalize it and can’t even think for a second of the dehumanizing impact that word had on their peoples. 0 self respect.
The crack epidemic of the 80s and the private prisons and the sudden popularity of gangster rap of the 90s screwed over there community

Many of the politicians who were the fiercest advocates of ”three strikes and your out ”were southern politicians like bill Clinton who grew up during segregation and were trying to appeal to white suburban voters
