Muslims that celebrate Valentine’s Day are cringy

They’re almost as bad as the Muslims that celebrate Christmas. Like bruh that shit is haram. And it’s stupid too. So you should only show your love on one day? :heh:

I heard in Japan on valentines day they have this thing called black day where they mourn the fact that they're single by eating a bunch of food.

Maybe I'll do that instead.

Yh like I'm gonna buy usually priced £10 flowers for £30+......

I AM the gift

How can valentines day be haram? It isn't a religious holiday, it isn't practised as a form of ibadah and neither are you expecting rewards from Allah (swt) for participating. I don't personally celebrate but calling something haram is a big thing smh....

Any holiday whether it's religious or not, besides Ramadan and Eid is forbidden.

This includes thanksgiving, valentines day, etc.

Easter and christmas are of course banned because not only are they non-muslim holidays, they're christian holidays so celebrating them could be considered a form of shirk if you look at the origin of those holidays(the christian jesus).

Who told you this lol? These are cultural festivals. If a festival has religious connotations other than Islam and is still viewed as being part of that religion, then it is Haram. However, if it is not widely regarded as part of that religion anymore, it is not Haram. Origins or not.

How do you think Islam was able to spread so far? Do you think scholars looked at a culture and said haram, haram, and haram? No, you look at the public benefit of said cultural festivals and if no harm occurs they are by definition Halal.

I'd watch the lecture I attached if you have time. We're being bombarded religiously by a loud minority that makes Islam so hard to practice causing people to burn out. Folks are so aggressively anti any kind of cultural expression that they won't be satisfied until Somalia turns to a copy of their idealized version of 7th Century Arabia that never existed. Not our fault, but it is happening, unfortunately. So we have to stay vigilant inshaAllah.
