Any holiday whether it's religious or not, besides Ramadan and Eid is forbidden.
Bro you’re so wrong. This one of the main things Salafis and Madhab followers clash on.

@Bringer of Wisdom @Arma @Waa dhamatay

There is no harm to attend this celebration. The Maliki School of jurisprudence deemed it undesirable to eat from `Atira (a sacrifice offered by the pre-Islamic people during the month of Rajab), while the Hanbali School deemed it permissible, since there is no text prohibiting it. People during the pre-Islamic times used to slaughter an animal in the month of Rajab. It was called Rajabiyyah or `Atira. Some scholars are of the opinion that it is permissible, based on the basic ruling. If people gather and slaughter an animal during Rajab or Sha`ban, or at any time, there is no harm in this. Similarly, if people celebrate an occasion, such as their independence or the National Day, which is common in African countries, there is no harm in this. It is also good that you can give a religious talk to the people. On the other hand, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) told us that Muslims have only two `Ids: `Idul-Adha and `Idul-Fitr, this does not mean that he forbade people from gathering. These celebrations are not prohibited, even if you hate attending them, as long as they involve no evil. Thus, there is no need to disturb people and spread doubts regarding matters that are not prohibited according to the Qur’an, Sunnah, Ijma`, or the agreement of scholars in the same Madhhab.

Bro you’re so wrong. This one of the main things Salafis and Madhab followers clash on. Y’all make Islam harder than it actually is. The only 2 eids muslims have are Eid ulFitr and Eid alAdha but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate anything else. I follow the maliki and shafi madhab and birthdays are deemed permissible, but to these hardcore Quranist/Hadithists it’s haram.

I was told birthdays were haram in dugsi but not by my parents but going to Somali Independence week was okay to both. Then I heard people say Somali Independence week was haram. Which confused me, so I did my own research.

These extremists probably don’t know how to smile.

Somali Independence Day is also haram then?
They are not even remotely close to each other.

Saudi National Day is celebrated annually in Saudi Arabia on September 23 to commemorate the renaming of the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its proclamation by a royal decree of King Abdul Aziz al-Saud in 1932.

Makes sense why you think this way. You’re listening to brother YQ.

Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday. We only have two annual holidays. Besides, it’s also another way of imitating the kuffar. We should be more discerning on who we follow and imitate. Why is it that some Muslims fall for marketing and societal pressure this much?
I don’t do Valentines day because it has Christian Origins but to claim anything but eid is imitating kuffar is laughable.

Imitating kuffar!!! Oh no! Let me get off the internet since I’m imitating kuffar.

Abaayo, I’m talking about holidays and anything specific to gaalo. Internet is for everyone. The diin is simple. We over complicate things.

Look at my other replies here. It’s not haram to celebrate birthday, cultural holidays or national days. Islam is simple not tough.
