1. I don’t agree with all of Sheikh Qaradawi’s fatwas and views. He certainly made mistakes but the good he has done far outweighs any mistakes. We could do this with any scholar in history, point out their Ijtihad mistakes and betray them to be deviants.
2. When a Muslim dies (especially a scholar), it’s not the right time or place to bring up his faults.
3. Some of his statements may be the slip of the tongue or ambiguous as I haven’t checked all of them, we should always make excuses for other Muslims until all other motives are ruled out.
4. Some of the things listed in that Tweet are trivial fiqh differences of opinion such as shaking the hands of the opposite gender or the permissibility of Musical instruments. A minority of scholars such as Ibn Hazm, Imam al-Ghazali and others have permitted the use of musical instruments and a minority of scholars consider shaking the hands of the opposite gender to be makruh (disliked) but not haram if there’s no desire.
