He made a good point that I nearly forgot. The capital of Somalia isn't official. Plus the constitution isn't official itself but transitional. So lets all fight to make our arguments why the capital needs relocating. In the past Harar-Zaylac was the HQ of Adal sultanate. It was religious state however and consisted of Muslims, it was not a nation state. It was operating it's in time period because there was no nation state in the 14th century, most societies were kingdoms ruled by the Vatican as head of the european kingdoms.
I say there is no economical benefit having the capital towards the south, there is no economic justification as the trade corridor today is definitely not towards Kenya and Tanzania. I can understand in the time of Oman Empire the trade Omani trade would benefit Southern coastal towns but today that is over. I don't see a political reason either, in-fact politically it's very unstable due to the capital with hawiye clans not in agreement.
Civil war history leaves a distate in my many people mouth who will never come back to Mogadishu again, the capital image is dead. The city doesn't serve to unite the nation like capitals should, in-fact it disunites the nation with regions going to foreign countries. Mogadishu appears to behave like a regional govt more so then a federal govt, it competes with the regions when it was supposed to act neutral like capitals in all countries do. I never seen Washington DC sending armies into Regional govts in America or interfering in their state elections. This shows me Hamar is a regional govt and we should declare it as such.
