This is the song sang about the Himyarite ruler As'ad Al Kamil who is credited in these oral accounts as building Mogadishu and many other places

When God desired to bring life in the beginning to the land of sand and mire
He began with the Town of Maqdishū and Asʿad son of Ḥassān and the two rabbis built it
He is one of the Tubbaʿ’s of Yaman, the king whose people are mentioned in the Qurʾān

The people of Tubba aka the Himyarites are mentioned in the Qur'an in Surah Ad Dukhan 43:37 and Surah Qaf 50:14

Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.

And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled.

Here is the full tafsir of the ayah in Surah Ad-Dukhan which explains the People of Tubba

Sounds fake imo, Highly doubt either the Ummayds or Abbasids governed or were suzerains of parts of Somalia, there would have been more records of it than oral history if they expanded that far south.

Only way to verify is a document on Ummayad/Abbasid activity in those years

it's a great document but it contains many legends and myths. For example they say somalis are arabs QUOTE ": As to the origin of the Somali, they are without doubt the Arabs, as is said in the book Sabaik al-Dahab, they are descended from the son of son of Bur son of Qaydar son of Ishmael son of Abraham - to their health and blessing. But there are different views (on the Somali) because others say that they are descended from the son of Laqsan son of Abraham – to him be greetings- "

Also historians and archeologians agree that Mogadishu was founded around the 10th century, there is no evidence of permanent hymarite or ummayad settlements
