Its about respecting the natives of the land you're in, Americans are mostly Christian and Agnostic they don't want to be hearing call to prayer, simple as that. Its funny because Somalis/Muslims are never this accommodating to non-Muslims

This remind me of an incidnet in Sheffield, Yorkshire many years ago, where a group pf Mulsim students (Malaysians, Indos, Arabs etc) were renting a large house, by Hallam university, wanted to broadcast athan, but the neighbours complained, and the landlord asked them to vacate thereafter. A Saudi khayriya org. intervened, bought the house, where students then placed a large speaker atop the roof of the house. Neighbours on either sides placed their houses on the market, and the same org. bought them too. There is no chance of that happening here, as the neighbourhood is predominantly of Muslim community.
