Somalis from the bush in 2016 will not know their real age 5 years from now so how can he? Also, this is a country where the life expectancy is 50; for him to more than double that is nothing short of remarkable.... and also a big lie.
That's not true. They always know the year. Somali people tend to have names for springs, and each year takes the name of its spring. So they are always off by no more than three months, if they're off at all. Say someone was born in the autumn of the year by the name of Siigaale. It of course has a corresponding year in the Gregorian calendar - all we do is find when the spring occurred in that year and the autumn that follows is our season of birth. They always have distinct names: Gargaar, Siigaale, Fiitacade, Habaas Weeyne etc. The guy in question was born Caana Weeyne (in the spring), which is 1905. In fact, it's not unheard of for old people to have a date that can be readily converted to form dd/mm/yyyy. Don't underestimate your people. They always had a working system of astronomy, and you're saying they can't count years, ffs.
