FANO aren’t ethiopianists who are usually urban mutts or gurages. They’re rural Amharas and identify as amhara first.

Ethiopianist ideology is still strong among Oromos. Unlike in Tigray where it has eroded, Oromos still view themselves as Ethiopian, so the idea of an independent Oromia state hasn’t really solidified in their cultural zeitgeist yet.
Also, PP isn’t pushing Oromummaa. Abiy and his circle have actually moved past ethnicism as an organising principle.

Why didn’t Tigrayans do the same? Woyane used to call Ethiopia an artificial settler-colonial entity for decades but once they had the golden seat they decided Ethiopia was the best thing to ever grace this planet. In this same way public sympathy for the OLF has declined because the rewards of power are too great (but unlike Meles, Abiy isn’t developing his region so the OLF is seeing a resurgence).

The Fed doesn’t control Tigray. There’s just no war currently but it’s under TPLF armed control (barring Wolqayt and Raya)

Isn't the pro-war faction in exile rn? I thought the pro-peace faction accepted Ethiopian control of Tigray (note that I wrote down 'Ethiopia' and not 'ENDF).

Idk man if a group says it wants to annex neighboring lands, imply almost every other week they want to dominate other groups, say almost constantly that they are fighting for god, and if you are more interested in actions they opress Oromo ,Muslim, and Agew individuals and deprive them of many rights (chief among them- land ownership).
Also did you forget the entire Tigray war? They cleared out Tigrayans from W. Tigray without mercy.
Agree with you but Zemene himself is fishy fella. I wouldn't be surprised in 2 years if he gets ousted (quote me if I was right).

Eh he held power in the Amhara region for a while during the Meles dictatorship due to his immence popularity in the land of the Amharas, then he ran to Eritrea to be a big leader in Ginbot-7. Then he was so popular that Abiy Ahmed offered him leadership of the Amhara Region but he declined it, he was the main opposition to the Abiy Ahmed regime in the Amhara region and due to this after a coup attempt in Amhara he was given a sentence but he fled abroad.
Fast forwards to the Tigray War, during the Woyane offensive in Amhara he went out of hiding to lead the main popular resistance to the brutal invasion and led the counter attack into Tigray. Magically his charged disappeared after this (wow!). So one could say he created the idea of a FANO. Then FANO groups and the Feds went to war over a great many things- and he sided with FANO and leads Gojjam currently.
