@Neero darod wars r different to hawiye. They don't fight urban, it's always on the outskirts in the open and who-ever wins usually vacates the town. So the casualtiees r only really soldiers not civilians.

Numbers seem small. How can battle called nus qiyamo have 200 deaths. Either numbers wrong or somali Qabiis to much booto and they adding lots of cusbo to story

How come sub-sub-sub clans were smoking each other like there were no tomorrow?:gucciwhat:

May God never bestow my people with such a curse. Imagine doing this in the ~21st century?!?!

Oh, how the mighty people have fallen

Clans exaggerate the number of people they have killed and do the same when their own are wronged.

Always playing both sides.

After somalis got independence they should have been only small scale army who would just patrol our borders. Clan fighting always existed but instead of spears its now AK47s and 50.cals on Toyotas.

No surprise the civil war happened, you can’t arm people who have massacred each other with spears with latest weapons. No surprise that the country has not stabilised.

Mass cleanup of heavy weapons and assault rifles is needed in Somalia.

Wouldn't that just make it easier for a tyrannical government to control us?

I don't think a lot of folks here want to see a Mohamed Siyaad Barre 2.0

Good luck with that! Wait until more sophisticated weapons are brought in and clan misunderstanding happens in the future. These figures will then be measly, compared to what’s to come :farmajoyaab:

Somalis can't have access to weapons.
We need to indoctrinate the next generation with love towards Somalinimo and focus their natural yearning for bloodshed on the conquest of Somaliweyne and Futuh ul Zanj.

These numbers are under estimated real numbers are much higher plus this list is non exhaustive so if your clan is not on there doesn't mean they weren't like the rest of the lamagoodle savages.

Mohamed Siad Barre did literally the opposite what a tyrannical leader should do. Man ramped up the militarisation of Somalia to the point we had one of the best armies on the continent. The military was full of non-darood soldiers and high ranking generals. These folks then got good fighting experience in the 1977 war. Then MSB had the bright idea to oppress these groups. We see how that turned out.

He is the epitome of 68 iq. You do not empower groups who can challenge your rule. What he should have done, is control the country financially and have the all the key military equipment on the hand of trusted men. Even though the elite group with the most weapons was from his own clan, that didn’t help in the end.

He could have been Jomo Kenyatta of Somalia. Plunder but develop the country, give the keys to a allied group for a while until power returns to your son.

Somalia had exceptionally shortsighted dictator. Man obviously did not know how to play the game.

He should have just allowed democracy to continue developing. He probably would have won an election anyway

He was an illiterate former camel herder. Not much to be expected there

The man had the popularity, probably could have rigged the results too but alas. The coup organised by the ruskies set us back for decades.
